Alice is a children's book writer who's creatively blocked, estranged from her husband and alienated from her daughter. It takes a trip to Wonderland for her to regain balance in her life. The beautiful ballad, "Finding Wonderland," sung by Janet Dacal (Alice), captures the climatic moment when she realizes certain truths.
In our Wonderland, The Queen of Hearts has maintained her signature phrase, but delivers it in a jazz/blues styling suitable for a high-end cabaret in Manhattan - or perhaps in Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts is played by Karen Mason, an acclaimed singer who has performed not only on Broadway but also at Feinstein's at the Regency, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center.
Lyricist Jack Murphy and composer Frank Wildhorn combined on this beautiful ballad, sung by Janet Dacal, who played "Alice" in the original Tampa production.
When Alice meets the White Knight in Wonderland, it's not love at first sight. In this catchy, humorous duet featuring Janet Dacal and Darren Ritchie, they list all the problems with relationships and why they don't need each other. (But, of course, they do.)
